Someone on the Anthropologie forums on Ravelry posted about recreating a little number called the Loop de loop cardigan. I immediately recognised the smocking from Earn in Rowan #42. The shape could be a Jo Sharp cardy and before I knew it...
...I had cast on my own rendition of the pattern using some RYC cashsoft 4ply from the stash. Can you say easily distracted...
And I 'borrowed' some paper clips from the office (no I would never steal office supplies ...they'll be returned tomorrow) to attempt to demonstrate the smocking ....mmmmm attractive they look like leeches. The real smocking will be embroidered but hopefully you can get the idea of how they do it in Rowan (incidentally they don't actually tell you how, but rather point you to a photo).
P.S. I appologise for the lack of verbage these days, but sleep deprivation brings out my inability to concentrate. Herding sheep-like words in my mind and committing them to paper requires concentration.
I really love that cardigan. I am sure it will be beautiful when it is finished too.
